Ark celebrates 5 years in business
A favorite regional attraction in McPherson celebrates turning 5 years old.
“We’ve changed a lot and have grown a lot in the last five years, but our core values and our mission remain unchanged,” said Ben Coffey, founder and owner of The Ark Antiques and Flea Market, a company belonging to CoffeyHouse Ventures. We wanted to ‘Operate a regionally recognized shopping experience in a clean, comfortable facility with quality vendors and fair pricing.’ By my estimation, we’ve hit the nail on the head.”
The Ark has a whole week of fun planned to celebrate reaching the five-year milestone. Vendors are running sales from July 1 to 6, and Saturday promises to be a fun day. Sunday will conclude with a vendors-only social, followed by the announcement that is sure to excite the community and region. That announcement will be made live with vendors and through FB LIVE at 6pm CST.
“Saturday (July 5) is about giving back to the community that has supported us in building this dream for the last 5 years.” Free grilled hot dogs are offered from 11am to 1pm, accompanied by free car cleaning as scheduled that Saturday. “The road to 5 years has been a fun one,” said Coffey. “I think maybe only fellow entrepreneurs will understand the blood, sweat, and tears that go into making a business successful. What’s even worse? I’ve loved just about every minute of it. I think entrepreneurs are just built differently.”
“We owe our success to a lot of folks. Thankfully, my family has joined this rocky journey to make it a family-run, family-owned business. Our employees have stood by us with every crazy thing we’ve tried, and our vendors have been the hardest-working group of people to work with. It’s been great, and we’re excited for another 5–or 50–years!”
