The Ark Enters New Adventure with Statewide Garage Sales

The Ark has a goal in mind to become the one-stop shop for advertising garage sales in the Midwest.

Owner Ben Coffey and his family have been avid garage sale lovers for decades, and Coffey has been frustrated that there is sno central location, especially on social media, to find garage sale in a helpful, spam-free way. The Ark’s Store Manager and CoffeyHouse Ventures Chief Operating Officer, Mike Bruns, has helped make the Coffey family’s goal a reality. “Mike spent a lot of late nights and early mornings geeking out and coding this thing. We couldn’t have done it without him.

When asked how long it took for Bruns to set up this website for the Ark, he responded, “Probably 60 or 70 hours of work. It has a lot of moving parts.” Bruns also added, “My favorite part about the Ark’s new website is that it does everything, except approval for garage sales, completely automated.”

The new site, www.ksgaragesalelistings.com, is now available for residents in McPherson, Hutchinson, Salina, Wichita, Great Bend, and Overland Park to sign up and list their garage sales online, making it easier for Kansas garage sale lovers to find unique treasures. The Ark is selecting these towns first to test out the bugs and prove the concept of the sale website.

“Eventually,” says owner Ben Coffey, “we hope to branch out and add other states in the Midwest to our website, too. At some point in time, we hope this will be a revenue-generating proposal. For now, we’re excited to explore the concept.
